PTFE Film Tape, high temperature PTFE coated fiberglass tape and Raw adhesive tape can be called PTFE tape or Teflon tape. They have similar characteristics, but there are some differences.

Teflon tapes are divided into two categories according to different substrates, one is based on glass fiber cloth, and the other is based on Teflon film. Both PTFE Film Tape and Raw adhesive tape are based on Teflon film, while high temperature PTFE coated fiberglass tape is based on glass fiber cloth.

Many customers are easy to confuse when buying. Here is how to distinguish these different types of tape.

  • Different colors

Generally, PTFE coated fiberglass tape is light brown or beige, and the surface is textured, usually with yellow wavy release paper, which has high temperature resistance.

PTFE Film Tape is dark brown or black, and there are no lines on the surface.

Raw adhesive tape comes in many colors. The common color is white, with no lines on the surface. The tape is elastic and soft to the touch. Raw adhesive tape is used for all kinds of faucet pipe connections.

  • Different intensity

PTFE coated fiberglass tape has better tensile strength than pure PTFE Film Tape, and Raw adhesive tape has the best flexibility.

  • The conventional specifications and models are different

PTFE Film Tape and Raw adhesive tape can be made thinner, for example, some thickness can reach 0.04mm, and the conventional width is 300mm. PTFE coated fiberglass tape is made of high-temperature resistant glass fiber cloth. The usual thickness is 0.13mm, 0.18mm, 0.25mm, 0.3mm, and the roll width is 1000mm. Some are cut into small rolls.

These three types of PTFE Tape have their own application areas. Before buying Teflon Tape, you must first figure out what you are going to use, so that you can choose the most suitable product for you.
